Haslet sits on the far north edge of Tarrant County, one of the parts of the county that has kept its larger-lot and acreage character even as growth arrives. Newer subdivisions are on municipal water, but the semi-rural tracts around town still use private wells. It is worth being clear about the geology: the limited Trinity outcrop in Tarrant County is confined to the far northwestern corner, and under the Haslet area the Trinity is deep and confined.
